NEWMAN: Robbin Lorraine Newman passed away on July 22, 2024 at the age of 61 in her hometown of Fayetteville, Georgia. She was surrounded by her family and her lifelong friend, Beverly Williams. Robbin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, touching many lives in countless ways. She was raised in Atlanta's Oakland City neighborhood. Robbin took in many children during her life as she became an advocate for arthritis, autism awareness, and her children's education. Robbin loved country music, line dancing and gardening. Married in 1978, she is predeceased by her husband Joseph Bobby Newman, she is the daughter of the late Robert Marion Yarbrough and Nona Lee Ledbetter Lester. She is the granddaughter of the late G.L. and Ivy Jean Ledbetter. She is also preceded in death by her stepfather Ralph Lester, sisters Shirley Lester Uy, and Patricia Lester, brother-in-law Frank Sams. Surviving Robbin are her children, Joseph (Crystal) Newman, Melissa Newman, Jackie Martinez, Junior, Allie, Emma and Chrissie; nephew, Patrick Uy; sisters, Kimberly Sams and Christine (Raul) Lester; brothers, Hugh Lester, Ralph Lester, Robert Lester and brother-in-law Arnel Uy; grandchildren, Caden Newman, Santana Mollet; aunts, Anita (Nicky) Van Houten, Minnie Lou Soreson; cousins, Penny Cogdil, Darryl Davis; friends Beverly Williams, Grace Adams; niece and nephew-in-law , Becky, Junior, Chris. A graveside service will be held at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, Geogia on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, 10:00 a.m. A public viewing will be held on Sunday August 4, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Legacy Funeral Home, Inc. 8968 Fayetteville Road, Jonesboro, Georgia.
