BYRD: A Celebration Service honoring the Life and Spirit of Mrs. Diane Zackery Byrd of Troy, Alabama who passed July 9, 2026 will be held Sunday, July 19, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 3573 Henderson Highway Troy, Alabama; Pastor Henry Reynolds, Officiant and Eulogist. Interment, New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Remains will lie in repose from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. A viewing will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, 202 E. Madison Street, Troy, Alabama. Survivors are her children, Zakiesha (Steven) Zackery, Cassandra (Cedric) Brundidge, Michael (Shakira) Zackery; grandchildren, LaMarcuse Bell, Sa’mya Lightfoot, Zamaria Lightfoot, Chozhen Lightfoot, and Khari Zackery; one great grandchild, Tru Lightfoot; sisters, Lillie Mashburn, Gloria (James) Lee, Debra Garrison, Linda (Clarence) Zackery, Janice (Clayton) Saylor; brothers, Jamie Lewis Zackery, James Zackery, Jr., Tommy Louis Zackery, and Jerald Zackery; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 12:30 p.m.
