Carol was a dedicated educator for over 30 years before she retired from the Atlanta Public School System. In addition, she was an instructor at Clark Atlanta University and Georgia Perimeter College where she developed the talents of younger teachers and helped students prepare for the State Teacher Certification exam. She touched many lives as an educator, as an active transformational member of her church homes, Oak of Moreh UMC and Laster Chapel UMC (Pastor Arundel Hope), and through service in years past as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones, friends, and students. She is survived by her three children, Ivan Barefield, Kim B. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Leonard Davis, Jr., Shirley Davis, and Janelle Davis Heatly. A Private Service with limited seating (family only) will be live streamed during the week of Kwanzaa (her favorite time of the year) from Legacy Funeral Home and Life Center, Inc., Jonesboro, Georgia on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 11:00 AM (EST); Pastor Arundel Hope officiant.
