MURPHY: A Funeral Service for Mr. Joseph “Joe” Luther Murphy, Jr. of Zebulon, Georgia who passed March 16, 2026 will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, 12:00 noon at Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, 8968 Fayetteville Road Jonesboro, Georgia; Minister Rudy Collins, Officiant. Interment, Jonesboro City Cemetery. A family visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife, Cheryl F. Murphy; his son, Joseph “Jojo” Murphy; Daughter, Michelle Singeltary; grandson, Wyatt Murphy and niece Brandy Batchelor. Survivors are his grandchildren, Thomaslee (Destiny) Singletary, Victoria (Lathan Weeks) Singletary, Henry Alton “Hank” Murphy, and Leta Guined; four great-grandchildren, Collin Jay Singletary, Brayden Smith, Wesley Guined, and Remington Weeks; sisters, Adrian (Gary) Masingill, and Mary Helen (Jerry) Olive; brother, Edward (Deborah) Murphy; nieces, Nicole (Calvin) Keever, and Jessica Turcotte; nephews, Kelvin (Tia) Murphy, and Terry Batchelor; and a host of great niece, great nephews, in-laws, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the chapel at 10:30 a.m.
