JOHNSON: A Celebration Service honoring the Life and Legacy of Mr. James R. Johnson, Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia who transitioned December 31, 2025, will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, 8968 Fayetteville Road Jonesboro, Georgia; Dr. Joseph M. Ripley, Sr., Officiant and Eulogist. Interment, Monday, January 12, 2026, Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia. A viewing will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Legacy Chapel. Survivors are his wife, Brenda M. Johnson; two sons, Marwan (Kelly) Johnson, Sr. and James R. (Sentrell) Johnson, Jr.; grandchildren, Marwan, Jr., Jada Eleze, Nylah Simon, Jaliyah Sentrell, Nina Jasmine, James III, Noelle Milayah, Senali, and Rayna; siblings, Charles (Diana) Johnson, and Derrick Johnson; in-laws, Yvonne Moales, Kevin Mayes, and Mark Mayes; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the chapel at 10:30 a.m.
