WHITE: Bishop Richard “Mr. Clean” White, Sr., born March 26, 1944, in Jersey City, New Jersey, was a devoted minister and a gifted musician. He received his education in the Jersey City School System and graduated from the Deliverance Evangelistic Bible School. Additionally, he was honored with an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from St. Paul Bible Institute. Bishop White's spiritual journey began in 1957 under the guidance of Apostle Arturo Skinner. He was ordained as a minister in 1963 and later became an Elder within the Church of God in Christ in 1969.

For over 63 years, Bishop White traveled extensively, dedicating his life to preaching and evangelizing across the United States and internationally. As a prolific songwriter, he composed approximately 300 songs and collaborated with prominent Gospel artists. He also served on the Board of Directors of The Gospel Music Workshop of America. Within the Church of God in Christ, he held numerous leadership roles, including Pastor of Gospel Temple Church in Atlanta, Superintendent of the Headquarters District, and President of the Evangelist Department.

In 2002, he was consecrated as Bishop of the Bermuda Jurisdiction, where he served faithfully until his passing. Bishop White was married to Gloria Talley-White for 51 years, and together they raised three children, Joy, Tamara, and Richard II—who blessed him with five grandchildren.

He entered eternal rest on August 11, 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy of Gospel music and ministry that continues to inspire countless lives.
